Following the European championship victory of the National Women's Volleyball Team, a congratulatory message came from President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to the Sultans of the Net. The national team, which faced Italy in the final, rose to the top of Europe by winning the highly competitive match 3-2 at the end of the golden set. The Turkish Women's National Volleyball Team reached the summit of Europe by defeating Italy in a breath-taking match in the final of the CEV Trendyol 2026 European Championship. Following the historic victory of the Sultans of the Net, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan congratulated the national team. SULTANS OF THE NET AT THE SUMMIT OF EUROPE
The final excitement was experienced in the CEV Trendyol 2026 Women's European Volleyball Championship hosted by Istanbul. Turkey and Italy faced each other in the final played at Sinan Erdem Sports Hall.
The Sultans of the Net, competing as the defending champions of the tournament, took to the field against Italy to become the greatest in Europe. While the national team put up a great fight against their opponent in the final, the match witnessed great competition.
Turkey won the challenging final 3-2 and achieved the European championship. Thus, the Sultans of the Net brought the trophy to Turkey once again, following the European championship they had won in 2023.
A BREATH-TAKING STRUGGLE IN THE FINAL
The Sultans of the Net left behind important rivals on their way to the championship until reaching the final.
After the group stage, the national team defeated Azerbaijan 3-0 in the round of 16 and Germany 3-1 in the quarterfinal. In the semifinal, they displayed an extremely strong performance, defeating Serbia 3-0 and securing their place in the final.
Italy, on the other hand, had defeated Poland 3-1 in the semifinal to become Turkey's opponent in the final.

Following the European championship of the Sultans of the Net, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan celebrated the national team with a post on his social media account.

CONSECUTIVE MAJOR ACHIEVEMENTS
The Sultans of the Net had also experienced a championship in the FIVB Nations League in 2026, in addition to the European championship. In the VNL final played in July, the national team defeated Brazil 3-1 and won the trophy.
With this success, the A National Women's Volleyball Team crowned the 2026 season with two major championships.
