President Erdoğan stated that "if necessary intervention is not made against the attacks of the USA and Israel on Iran, the process of conflict will have very serious consequences for regional and global security. No country can bear the economic and geopolitical uncertainties that such a scenario would create. Therefore, it is essential to extinguish the fire before it grows any larger."
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan made statements during an iftar program with MKYK members, party boards, Ankara Provincial Organization, and district heads at the AK Party Congress Center.
Referring to the attacks by the USA and Israel on Iran, President Erdoğan stated, "Our priority is to establish a ceasefire and open the door to dialogue. If necessary intervention is not made, the conflict process will have very serious consequences for regional and global security. No country can bear the economic and geopolitical uncertainties that such a situation would create. Therefore, it is essential to extinguish the fire before it grows any larger," he said.
Highlights from Erdoğan's statements;
"We are fully present on the ground with our members of parliament, women's branches, youth branches, and local governments. While sharing the blessings of iftar and sahur with our citizens at home, we do not neglect our brothers and compatriots living abroad. From Aleppo to Sarajevo, from Varna to Prizren, we are experiencing the joy of Ramadan together in every place where our hearts beat as one.
I see that our Ankara organization is also making great efforts to reach every neighborhood, every district, and every household in our city with great sincerity.
"WE MUST RAISE THE BAR A LITTLE HIGHER"
As I have always said, our fundamental mission is to be with our citizens at all times and in all places, to be in solidarity and empathy with them. If we can heal wounds, provide remedies for troubles, produce solutions to problems, and receive the good prayers of our nation; then we are fulfilling our duty properly and giving due rights to the position we hold.
We have no chance to stop, pause, or fall into complacency; we have no such luxury. We cannot lower our standards by looking at the opposition's lack of vision. We must never allow the tempo to decrease. We must continuously increase the tempo and raise the bar a little higher each time.
Therefore, we will continue to run. We will touch more hearts. We will hold the hands of more of our people. Without stopping, resting, or making any distinctions, we will continue to embrace all 86 million with love.
"I WISH CONDOLENCES TO THE PEOPLE OF IRAN"
Dear friends and comrades, on Saturday, attacks that clearly violate international law were added to the situation in our neighbor Iran. Many Iranians lost their lives in the attacks, including Iran's religious leader Ali Khamenei, as well as civilian and military officials and innocent children.
I wish God's mercy upon our Iranian brothers who lost their lives, and I express my condolences to the people of Iran on behalf of my country and my nation. As their neighbors and brothers, we share the pain of the Iranian people from the bottom of our hearts. We feel deep sorrow in the face of this situation where civilians and innocent people bear the burden of the conflicts.
You know, as Turkey, we have made intense efforts since day one to find a diplomatic solution to the disputes; we will continue our efforts for peace and stability.
"WE WILL CONTINUE TO INTENSIFY OUR CONTACTS AT EVERY LEVEL"
In addition to conveying our best wishes to our brothers in the Gulf, we have thoroughly discussed how we can stop the war and reduce tensions. We will continue to intensify our contacts at every level until a ceasefire is established and calm prevails in our region.
Dear brothers, I see it beneficial for everyone to know this: As a nation, we want for our neighbors what we want for ourselves. At no point in our history have we remained indifferent to the fire in our neighbors' homes. We have pursued a principled, honorable, and peaceful policy that centers on human life.
Everyone knows how sincerely we have fought for regional peace and stability for 23 years, and how we have adopted a constructive and balanced attitude in international politics. The legitimacy of these efforts, which we have carried out without expecting anything in return, is now understood much better.
We are on the side of peace. We want no blood to be shed, and tears to cease. We desire our region to achieve the lasting peace it has longed for for years. Especially during this blessed month of Ramadan, we do not want to see conflict, war, tension, and massacre right next to us.
Our stance against the unlawful attacks targeting Iran is also in this direction. Iran is our neighbor. The people of Iran, with whom we have been at peace since 1639, are our brothers, just like other peoples in the region.
"IT IS ESSENTIAL TO EXTINGUISH THE FIRE BEFORE IT GROWS ANY LARGER"
Our priority is to establish a ceasefire and open the door to dialogue. If necessary intervention is not made, the conflict process will have very serious consequences for regional and global security. No country can bear the economic and geopolitical uncertainties that such a situation would create. Therefore, it is essential to extinguish the fire before it grows any larger.
Of course, in this sensitive process, we are also taking all necessary precautions regarding the safety of our country and our citizens. We do not overlook any possibility; we carefully analyze every development and examine every incident in detail. Our security and intelligence units are closely monitoring developments on the ground.
In order to ensure that not even a single individual among 86 million is harmed, we are fulfilling our responsibilities to the letter.
From here, I also call out to all our citizens together with my organization: Our nation should continue to trust us, to trust its state. The Republic of Turkey stands by its nation under all circumstances and has the power, will, and means to protect its nation's rights."
