Master actor Yalçın Dümer, as a guest on Armağan Çağlayan's YouTube channel, shared a remarkable memory he had with President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan years ago. Dümer mentioned that during the time he was married to his ex-wife Esra Balamir, the then Mayor of Istanbul, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, officiated their wedding.
"THIS MARRIAGE WILL END IN 6 MONTHS"
Dümer stated, "With a request, the then Mayor of Istanbul, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, officiated our wedding. The wedding was at Galatasaray Island. As he was seeing me off after the wedding, he said, 'Yalçın, I will tell you something, this marriage will end in 6 months.'" Dümer noted that President Erdoğan's prediction turned out to be correct.

Yalçın Dümer first married theater artist Defne Halman. After divorcing Halman, he married film actress Serpil Çakmaklı in 1993. They divorced on May 27, 1995. He has a daughter named Merve (b. 1994). Dümer married singer Esra Balamir in August 1998. His wedding, which took place at Galatasaray Island, was officiated by Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. They divorced in 1999.
