President Erdoğan performed the Eid al-Fitr prayer in his hometown of Rize. In his statement after the prayer, Erdoğan drew attention to developments in the Middle East and used strong language against Israel.
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan performed the Eid prayer at the Central Mosque in Güneysu district of Rize. After the prayer, Erdoğan greeted citizens and made statements to the press.
Emphasizing the importance of the month of Ramadan, Erdoğan said, "We have left behind the blessed month of Ramadan, which begins with mercy, is in the middle with forgiveness, and ends with salvation from eternal torment, and today we are honored with Eid al-Fitr. May my Lord make Eid al-Fitr a means of salvation for all my Islamic family."
MESSAGE TO ISRAEL: IT WILL PAY THE PRICE
Touching on developments in the Middle East, Erdoğan stated, "The Middle East is currently boiling. This Zionist Israel has massacred hundreds of thousands of people. I have no doubt that it will pay the price for this as well."
GREETING CITIZENS, OFFERING SIMIT
After the prayer, Erdoğan greeted citizens outside the mosque and offered them simit. Wishing that the holiday would be a means of unity and solidarity, Erdoğan said, "May my Lord be our helper. May Eid al-Fitr be a means of goodness for our country and nation."
After his program, President Erdoğan went to his residence in Güneysu.
