In an operation targeting crimes related to promoting prostitution and providing premises in Ankara, 12 suspects were detained. As part of the operation, 4 hotels were sealed off and locked. It was observed that the hotels attempted to camouflage the seals by hanging signs on the sealed doors stating "We are closed for renovations."
As part of the investigation conducted by the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office Sexual Crimes Bureau, operations were carried out by the teams of the Provincial Police Department's Public Order Branch Moral Bureau against those committing the crimes of promoting prostitution, facilitating, and providing locations for prostitution.
CLAIM THAT HOTEL STAFF RECEIVE A SHARE PER ACCOMMODATION
As a result of the work of the moral bureau teams, 3 hotels were taken under investigation, and 12 suspects, including managers and owners working at the hotels, were referred to the prosecutor's office on charges of providing locations for prostitution. Victims claimed in their statements that hotel staff received a share per accommodation.
THEY CAMOUFLAGED THE SEALS BY SAYING "WE ARE RENOVATING"
According to the decision made by the Anti-Prostitution Commission, 4 hotels were sealed and locked. It was observed that the hotels covered the seals by hanging signs on the sealed doors stating "We are closed due to renovation." Additionally, more than 30 victimized women were rescued. The suspects were referred to the courthouse after their procedures at the police station.
