A municipal bus operating in the Adapazarı district of Sakarya caught fire while in motion. The driver quickly pulled over to the side of the road and evacuated the passengers, but the bus was soon engulfed in flames. After the efforts of the fire department, the fire was extinguished, leaving behind a pile of metal where the bus once stood.
In Sakarya, on the Adapazarı-Koruncuk road, in the Karakamış area, the driver of the municipal bus with the license plate 54 B 4467, which was operating on the city transportation line heading towards Adapazarı, saw smoke rising from the vehicle and immediately pulled it over to the side of the road.
PASSENGERS WERE EVACUATED
The driver evacuated the passengers and reported the situation to the 112 Emergency Call Center. Shortly after, the flames engulfed the entire vehicle. Upon notification of the situation, fire and police teams were dispatched to the area. The fire was brought under control and extinguished by the fire crews that arrived at the scene.
BLACK SMOKE FILLED THE SKY
In the area where black smoke filled the sky, police teams took security measures and closed the direction to traffic, redirecting drivers to other alternative routes.
ONLY A PILE OF METAL REMAINED FROM THE BUS
Meanwhile, the moments when the bus turned into a fireball were recorded second by second by mobile phone cameras. After the fire, which was brought under control and extinguished by the fire crews, only a pile of metal remained from the vehicle. The teams started working to find the cause of the fire.
