The dialogue call made by Ukrainian President Zelensky via letter received a negative response from Moscow. Russian President Vladimir Putin stated that under the current conditions, sitting down with the Kiev administration is meaningless, saying, "We need not temporary ceasefires, but a permanent peace agreement."

Russian President Vladimir Putin gave a sharp and clear response to the meeting call in the open letter addressed to him by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. Making strategic statements on the Ukrainian issue, Putin stated that sitting down at the table with Zelensky under the current conjuncture makes no sense.

"DEMAND FOR MEETING IS MEANINGLESS, WE NEED A LASTING PEACE"

The Russian leader implied that he did not find the dialogue and meeting requests from the Ukrainian side sincere, stating that they wanted a fundamental outcome rather than palliative solutions. Confirming that Zelensky requested an appointment via an open letter, Putin said, "He requested a meeting, but there is no point in getting together at this stage. We need not temporary ceasefires, but a permanent peace agreement," emphasizing Russia's determination regarding the terms of negotiations.

"WE MUST STRENGTHEN OUR AIR DEFENSE SYSTEMS"

Vladimir Putin also addressed the recent attacks by Ukraine on critical points in Russian territory, evaluating the military and economic consequences of these operations. Admitting that the attacks were not entirely ineffective, Putin stated, "Attacks on infrastructure cause a certain amount of damage to Russia. This means only one thing for us: we must further strengthen our air defense systems."

"THEY FROZE OUR 300 BILLION DOLLARS, BUT OUR RESERVES EXCEEDED 500 BILLION DOLLARS"

Putin argued that the sanctions imposed by Western countries to collapse the Russian economy had a boomerang effect, causing greater harm to the imposing parties, and highlighted his country's financial resilience. Challenging the West over the seized funds, the Russian leader stated, "They froze 300 billion dollars of our assets, but with the measures we have taken, our reserves have now exceeded 500 billion dollars," conveying the message that they have not been shaken economically.

"THEY WANT WEAPONS FROM THE US BUT DO NOT TRUST THEM"

Vladimir Putin also drew attention to the contradictions in Ukraine's relations with the West, especially the US, criticizing the military and diplomatic strategy of the Kyiv administration. Reminding that Ukraine constantly demands weapons from Washington to maintain a presence on the front line, Putin claimed that despite this, Kyiv does not fully accept the US as a guarantor country in the political arena and is trying to secure its position.
