As the energy crisis emerges in Europe due to Iran's closure of the Strait of Hormuz, a notable statement came from Russian President Vladimir Putin. Putin said, "Russia is ready to work with Europeans on oil and natural gas supply, but a signal is needed from them."

Russian President Vladimir Putin stated that Russia is ready to supply energy to Europe if European countries show interest; he noted that Moscow has increased oil and gas shipments to various countries it defines as "reliable partners."

"WE WILL CONTINUE TO SUPPLY OIL AND NATURAL GAS TO RELIABLE COUNTRIES"

Speaking at an energy forum, Putin said that Russia will continue to supply oil and natural gas to countries that maintain reliable economic relations with Moscow. Putin stated, "Russia will continue to supply oil and gas to countries that are themselves reliable counterparts."

PUTIN SET CONDITIONS FOR COOPERATION WITH EUROPE

Putin also indicated that Russia remains open to working with European countries on energy supply; however, he emphasized that this cooperation depends on signals regarding the "willingness to work independently of political considerations" coming from European capitals.

"WE ARE READY TO WORK TOGETHER"

Putin said, "If European companies and buyers suddenly decide to change their course and offer us a long-term and sustainable cooperation free from political considerations, they are welcome to do so. We have never rejected and are ready to work with Europeans."

"A SIGNAL FROM EUROPE IS NEEDED"

The Russian President stated, "Russia is ready to work with Europeans on oil and natural gas supply, but a signal is needed from them." Putin also added that Moscow needs "some signals from the other side" on this matter.

The Russian leader expressed that global oil prices have sharply increased by more than 30% in recent weeks. He warned that if instability in the region continues, oil production related to transportation through the Strait of Hormuz could face serious disruptions, and shipments could halt within the next month.
