India, one of the world's largest oil importers, had turned to discounted Russian oil in recent years due to sanctions. However, the increasing pressure from the Washington administration has led New Delhi to reconsider its energy policy.
"DEMAND TO REDUCE OIL PURCHASES FROM MOSCOW" The US administration has requested that India reduce its oil purchases from Moscow within the framework of sanctions against Russia. In this process, Washington tried to influence India's energy policy through customs duties and economic incentives during trade talks with India. Indeed, it was announced that following India's commitment to limit its purchases of Russian oil, the US planned to reduce some customs duties imposed on Indian goods.
