Registration for the 665th Historical Kırkpınar Oil Wrestling, to be held in Edirne, has been completed. The queue for registration spilled out of the hall for this major event, where 1 million 655 thousand lira in prizes will be distributed. This year, 817 wrestlers have registered, while in the head wrestler category, 40 names will compete for the golden belt.

817 WRESTLERS REGISTERED
This year, 817 wrestlers registered, while in the head wrestler category, 40 names will compete for the gold belt. On the last day of registration before the historical event at Sarayiçi Wrestling Ground, there was high traffic. Wrestlers from all over Turkey completed their registrations and earned the right to compete in the most important event of the centuries-old tradition.
1 MILLION 655 THOUSAND LIRA PRIZE TO BE AWARDED
Edirne Municipality announced the prizes to be awarded to wrestlers ranking in the 665th Historical Kırkpınar Oil Wrestling. According to the statement from the municipality, the wrestler who comes first in the head wrestler category will receive 1 million 655 thousand lira. The second-place wrestler will receive 750 thousand lira, and two wrestlers eliminated in the semi-finals will receive 380 thousand lira each. The first-place prize in the sub-head category was set at 225 thousand lira, in the large middle category at 125 thousand lira, in the small middle large category at 82 thousand 500 lira, and in the small middle small category at 55 thousand lira. Wrestlers ranking in other categories will also receive prizes of various amounts. The best peşrev prize will be 16 thousand lira.

Aziz Özcan, Edirne Provincial Representative of the Turkish Traditional Wrestling Federation, stated that the registration process has been completed, saying, "We have completed the registration phase of the 665th Historical Kırkpınar Oil Wrestling. A total of 817 wrestlers have registered. In the head wrestler category, 40 wrestlers will compete in the field. I wish success to all wrestlers who will compete in Kırkpınar and hope for a healthy, accident-free event."
