In his statement, Eler said, "In order for the Galatasaray Sports Club, of which I am a member, not to be associated with these speculations in the slightest, I would like to inform you that I am requesting my resignation from my position on the Board of Directors of Galatasaray Sportif AŞ until the process is completed."

"Recently, false, unfounded, and defamatory posts targeting my reputation have been made on social media by certain accounts based on information provided by the relevant individual.
The amount related to the mentioned overseas organization has been delivered in cash and in full to Mr. Barış, the assistant of the relevant person, in accordance with the agreement between the parties. There is no situation where I took the money for myself, as expressed again on social media; the amount was deposited by the relevant person to the travel agency on behalf of three individuals, and my share was also delivered in cash.
It is already clear that there is no unfounded claim of assistance and donation to Galatasaray, as it was deposited into the travel agency's account.
The essence of our closeness with this individual is related to some teachers from his private school giving private lessons to my son and his participation as a guest in many dinners I organized related to Galatasaray. I suspect that the tension resulting in a glass breakage in the hotel room and my injury during our time there is the reason for the statements made about 15 days after the match, which have no relation to the truth and are mere slanders aimed at misleading the public.
In this context, a criminal complaint has been filed against the person who made these slanders, as well as all individuals and accounts that distort the truth in a similar manner. I hereby inform you that I have requested to resign from my position in the Board of Directors of Galatasaray Sportif AŞ until the process is completed, so that my club, Galatasaray Sports Club, is not associated with these speculations in the slightest."
WHAT HAD HAPPENED?
