A new statement has come from RTÜK President Ebubekir Şahin, who said that TV channels broadcasting illegally in the news about Ekrem İmamoğlu would face penalties, including closure. Şahin stated, "While live broadcasts are targeting our judges and prosecutors, would we not issue a warning? No one should take offense, friends; the state and its institutions will take the necessary actions in such situations."

The President of the Radio and Television Supreme Council (RTÜK), Ebubekir Şahin, regarding his warning that sanctions will be imposed on broadcasters operating illegally, stated, "We have made the warnings; there will be no further warnings in the next process. The word is over; we will now discuss our council decisions and the reports that will come to the council."
NEW STATEMENT FROM RTÜK PRESIDENT ŞAHİN
RTÜK President Ebubekir Şahin answered questions from the press after the iftar program organized within the scope of the "From Heart to Heart Together" program at the Darülaceze Social Living City. In a post on his social media account titled "Open and Very Important Warning to Broadcasters!", when asked about his statement that sanctions would be imposed on organizations operating illegally, Şahin noted that they sent a warning to television channels in this regard last night.
"NO ONE SHOULD TAKE OFFENSE, THE STATE WILL DO WHAT IS NECESSARY"
Şahin stated, "I know we have been heavily criticized on this issue, but should we not warn our television channels that broadcast live, which target our police and law enforcement trying to maintain order in a place where those who should calm our society, who should make reasonable statements, do not make these statements, by allowing them to make mistakes without any warning, inciting the public to hatred and anger? Should we not warn them when live broadcasts are made that target our judges and prosecutors, which can affect the course of a case that is shown as one of the biggest cases, ultimately resulting in some arrests and other applications? No one should take offense, friends; the state and its institutions will do what is necessary in such situations." he expressed.
"WE ARE AGAINST CENSORSHIP"
Emphasizing that the warnings made are not censorship, Şahin said, "If the warnings made in this area are seen as censorship by some, we are against censorship. The actions we take are not censorship. This will be a practice that will be frequently carried out by RTÜK in the future. Our broadcasters will pay attention to this; if they do not... If they do, they will broadcast in a free environment, within the limits of broadcasting." he stated.
"PLEASE EXCUSE US, RTÜK IS NOT THE OLD RTÜK"
Şahin noted that there are those who evaluate the warnings as "There used to be such situations, there would be some broadcasts, but we never received such warnings," and he said: "Please excuse us, neither Turkey is the old Turkey nor RTÜK is the old RTÜK. We will continue to do our job. Where can you broadcast such programs without limits, where can you invite the public to the streets, where can you make them a target of illegal organizations? Where can you raise the voice of that broadcast while law enforcement is being insulted by millions? No one should take offense; we are fed up with such cheap tricks. Just as we have done before, we will continue to carry out our inspections as RTÜK in accordance with the authority granted to us by our constitution, the laws, and the conditions we are in. Let me be clear: We have made the warnings; there will be no further warnings in the next process. The word is over; we will now discuss our council decisions and the reports that will come to the council."
