No date set for summit, says Algerian Foreign Ministry.

Algeria said Saturday that rumors are misleading that the 31st Arab League Summit has been postponed.

Foreign Minister Ramtan Lamamra held a meeting with the ambassadors of the Arab League, according to a statement from the Algerian Foreign Ministry.

It said that Lamamra told the ambassadors that no date has yet been set for the summit in Algeria.

He said Algerian President Abdulmecid Tebboune suggested that the summit be held at the same time as celebrations for the 60th anniversary of his country's independence, which is a historical and national symbol.

The proposal will be discussed in March at the foreign minister's meeting of the Arab League, said Lamamra, according to the statement. -
