In Russia's overnight attack on Kyiv with drones and missiles, 10 people were killed and 56 injured, including two children. Numerous civilian settlements were damaged, and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky cut short his visit to Ireland and returned to his country following the attack. Russia stated that the attack was retaliation for Ukraine's actions against Russian civilian infrastructure.

As mutual attacks continue in the Russia-Ukraine war, Russia launched a large-scale air strike on Ukraine's capital Kyiv during the night. The attacks, carried out with unmanned aerial vehicles and missiles, targeted numerous civilian settlements, causing fires in various parts of the city.

Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko announced that 10 civilians lost their lives in the attacks. Klitschko stated that six floors of a 10-story apartment building hit by a Russian missile partially collapsed, and search and rescue efforts for those trapped under the rubble are ongoing.

Head of the Kyiv Military Administration Tymur Tkachenko reported that 56 people, including two children, were injured in the attacks, and more than 30 locations across the capital were damaged.

"THEY DELIBERATELY TARGETED CIVILIANS"

Tkachenko argued that civilian residential areas were targeted in the attacks, stating, "The enemy once again deliberately targeted civilian settlements and massacred civilians. We have many casualties and injured, including children."

ZELENSKYY CUT SHORT HIS VISIT

It was learned that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy was on an official visit to Dublin, the capital of Ireland, during the attacks. Following the Russian attack, Zelenskyy cut his visit short and returned to Ukraine.

RUSSIA: WE CARRIED OUT A RETALIATORY STRIKE

The Russian Defense Ministry confirmed the attack, announcing that the operation was carried out as retaliation for Ukraine's attacks on Russian civilian infrastructure.

In the ministry's statement, it was indicated that military and energy facilities around Kyiv, as well as military airfields in the Poltava and Dnipropetrovsk regions, were also targeted.
