Russia's Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov stated that there is no basis for Israel's attacks targeting Iran's nuclear infrastructure, adding that these attacks could have terrible consequences.
Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov stated that Israel's calculations to destroy Iran's nuclear infrastructure through attacks have no basis, saying, "Such military actions usually lead to completely opposite results. These calculations cannot be realized."
Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov made statements to journalists in the capital Moscow regarding the conflict that began with Israel's violent attacks on Iran.
Expressing that the current situation is concerning, Ryabkov stated that they are in constant contact with both Israel and Iran.
EMPHASIS ON THE NEGOTIATION TABLE
Ryabkov emphasized the need for showing common sense, stopping the conflicts, and returning to the negotiation table, stating, "We have called on everyone to exercise restraint. We clearly condemned Israel's use of force without justification, violating the principles and norms of the United Nations (UN) Charter. We believe that Iran is acting within the framework of its right to self-defense in this situation."
"CAN LEAD TO TERRIBLE CONSEQUENCES"
Pointing out that Western countries, especially the United States, support Israel, Ryabkov underscored that Israel's attacks on Iran's nuclear facilities could lead to "terrible" consequences, saying:
"There is no basis for the Israeli side's calculations that such attacks will destroy the nuclear infrastructure. The lessons of history must be taken into account. Such military actions usually lead to completely opposite results. These calculations cannot be realized. First, Israel needs to show common sense and act with restraint. We are calling on the Israeli government in this regard. What happens next largely depends on this."
"WE COMMUNICATED TO US REPRESENTATIVES"
Noting that the new round of negotiations planned in Oman between the US and Iran will not take place, Ryabkov stated that the issue related to Iran's nuclear program should only be resolved through political and diplomatic means. Ryabkov mentioned that they discussed the Iran issue with American representatives and provided the necessary signals regarding it.
