The Ministry of Interior has increased security measures at all educational institutions in 81 provinces following the school attacks in Şanlıurfa and Kahramanmaraş. At least two security personnel have been assigned in front of schools, and suspicious person checks have been initiated.
Within the scope of measures swiftly implemented by the instruction of the Ministry of Interior, intensive inspections were carried out by police teams present in and around school premises.
In the capital, teams from the Ankara Police Department, primarily at primary, secondary, and high school levels, took up duties around schools within the framework of the taken measures and conducted identity checks and status controls on suspicious individuals.
SECURITY PERSONNEL ON DUTY IN FRONT OF SCHOOLS
In the coordinated efforts carried out with relevant institutions, it was learned that at least two security personnel have been assigned in front of schools, and reinforcement teams will also be included in the process when necessary for the safety of teachers and students throughout school hours.
It was noted that the said measures will be continuously maintained with strategies to be determined according to risk analysis and assessments conducted nationwide.
INSPECTIONS CONTINUE IN ISTANBUL AS WELL
On the other hand; inspections were carried out by police teams around some schools in Istanbul. The teams checked vehicles and conducted identity checks on drivers and suspicious individuals around the school.
