After a poor run at Hull City, one of the teams in the England Championship, Acun Ilıcalı held head coach Tim Walter responsible and dismissed him from the team.

Along with Tim Walter, his assistants Julian Hübner and Filip Tapalovic were also let go, and it was announced that Andy Dawson would temporarily take charge of the team until a new manager is appointed.
