In the investigation regarding bribery and zoning irregularities against the Buca Municipality in Izmir, 26 suspects who were detained were referred to the courthouse after their procedures at the police station. 26 people who were detained as part of an investigation into allegations of illegal practices in zoning and planning processes in exchange for bribes directed at the Buca Municipality in İzmir have been referred to the courthouse. ALLEGATION OF BRIBERY AND IRREGULAR LICENSES
In the investigation conducted by the İzmir Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, allegations emerged that locations violating regulations in various zoning and planning processes were licensed as if they were in compliance with the procedure in exchange for bribes, and that benefits were obtained through this means. In this context, a detention order was issued for a total of 28 people, including 11 municipal employees, among them the Director of Licensing and Supervision of the municipality.
In operations carried out on February 6 by the Financial Crimes Investigation Branch of the İzmir Police Department, 26 people were detained. It was reported that efforts were ongoing to capture 2 suspects, along with 1 person identified as being abroad.
7 PEOPLE ARRESTED
The 26 suspects, whose procedures at the police station were completed, were referred to the İzmir Courthouse in the morning hours. After the prosecutor's interrogations, suspects I.B., C.B., C.Ş., G.P., M.G., C.S., and S.K. were arrested, while 19 people were released under judicial control.
