As per the law, the defendant, whose defense could not be taken without a lawyer, said, "If I can't defend myself, why did I come? They forced me to give a statement." HIS MOTHER GAVE A STATEMENTThe mother of the defendant Yunus Emre Geçti, the victim Pınar Geçti, stated that she was not complaining about her son, saying, "I am not complaining because my child is a drug addict. I applied to the Dudullu police station several times, saying 'my child is using drugs.' I did not want a child with 26 criminal records to roam outside. I went to the police station with his father to find out what he was doing. Around 7:00 PM, his father left the police station, and before going home, I asked the police officer, 'When will Yunus Emre be released?' They said they couldn't give a time. I went home and called the police station around 9:00 PM to ask, 'Will he be released tonight?' They said he would stay there that night. I asked, 'Can I bring food?' They said, 'Yes.' I took food to the police station with my mother and father. The police officer brought my son to me without handcuffs. Yunus Emre hugged me and said, 'Why did you bring food?' then he escaped. I screamed, 'Yunus Emre is escaping.' The police officer asked me, 'What did you do?' I said, 'I called to ask if I could bring food.' Then we went with Mr. Kürşat and martyr Şeyda. Mr. Kürşat was shot, Şeyda was shot, I was shot twice. My child did not escape in the garden inside the police station; he escaped in the courtyard," she said. DEFENDANT YUNUS EMRE GEÇTİ SHOUTED AT HIS MOTHERAccording to Milliyet's report, while his mother was speaking, the defendant Geçti shouted, "Say he escaped from inside the police station, mom." Mother Pınar Geçti replied, "He escaped from inside the police station, he didn't escape from the garden." The presiding judge warned the defendant Geçti not to intervene.
