The mayor of Seyhan district, CHP member Oya Tekin, visited the family of Fatih Yeniay, who was martyred in the Sur district of Diyarbakır in 2016. However, during the visit, Tekin's choice to wear overshoes instead of taking off her shoes drew attention.

Comments were made regarding the image that drew great backlash on social media: "One really wonders," "Was there no one brave enough to take her outside by the arm?" "She deserves congratulations, at least she wore overshoes."
KILIÇDAROĞLU'S WARNING CAME TO MIND
The former chairman of the CHP, Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, warned women to wear overshoes during home visits, saying, "Do not enter homes with high-heeled shoes. There is no 'let me wear overshoes' during a home visit. Enter the house as if you live there."
