A murder committed in 2011 in the Akçaabat district of Trabzon has been solved after 14 years. It has been revealed that 48-year-old Süleyman Demir was killed with an axe by his wife and son following a scandal involving an illicit affair.
The fate of 48-year-old Süleyman Demir, who went missing in Uçarsu Village, Akçaabat on August 13, 2011, was clarified 14 years later. The father of three, who was allegedly killed due to family issues, had been the subject of fruitless searches for years. The case was reopened upon the instruction of Akçaabat Chief Public Prosecutor Akın Ilıman.
THE TRUTHS HAVE EMERGED
According to a report in Sabah; the Akçaabat District Gendarmerie Command teams meticulously examined the case and re-interviewed Süleyman Demir's wife Ümmühan Demir (62), who is in a suspicious position, and his son Hızır Demir (38). Investigations revealed that Ümmühan Demir was married to Süleyman Demir when she was only 16 years old, but it was claimed that she became pregnant with her son Hızır by another person before the marriage, and that Süleyman Demir learned this truth later. In his statement to the gendarmerie, Hızır Demir explained that his mother had a relationship with his uncle and that his father constantly abused his mother after learning about it.
THEY KILLED WITH AN AXE AND BURNED WITH THE HORSE
According to allegations, on the day of the incident, Süleyman Demir was called to a wooded area in Uçarsu. Demir, who went to the area with his horse, was killed there by his wife and son with an axe. It was revealed that the mother and son dismembered the body and destroyed it, and also killed and burned Demir's horse at the scene. It was learned that the suspects, who wanted to completely erase the traces of the murder, burned the horse along with the body to mix human and animal DNA.
SHE SAW HER DAUGHTER-IN-LAW WASHING THE AXE
After the murder, Ümmühan Demir returned home and encountered her son Hızır's wife, P.D. It was learned that the daughter-in-law saw her washing the bloody axe and asked her mother-in-law, "Why is this bloody?" to which Ümmühan Demir replied, "Mind your own business."

Mother Ümmühan Demir admitted to the murder but claimed she committed the crime alone to protect her son. However, as a result of the meticulous work of the gendarmerie teams, the horrific murder came to light in all its details. The mother and son who were taken into custody were arrested. It was also seen that Hızır Demir shared a photo of his murdered father on social media in 2022, leaving hearts underneath.
