MasterChef judge Somer Sivrioğlu decided to close his restaurant in support of the boycott movement that started on April 2nd.
After the call for a boycott by CHP Chairman Özgür Özel, a general boycott decision was made on April 2. In addition to media outlets and brands, a support for the expanded boycott, which stated "we are not consuming on April 2," also came from MasterChef jury member Somer Sivrioğlu. Sivrioğlu announced that he closed his restaurant in support of the April 2 boycott.
AN INVESTIGATION HAS BEEN INITIATED
While the echoes of the initiated boycott campaign continue, news of an investigation has also come to the agenda. In the statement, it was said, "An investigation has been initiated ex officio against individuals spreading divisive statements known to the public as 'boycott' calls, aimed at preventing a segment of the public from engaging in economic activities, under the general charges of Hate and Discrimination (TCK md. 122/1-d) and Incitement to Hatred and Hostility (TCK md. 216) by our Republic Chief Public Prosecutor's Office."
