A noteworthy development occurred in Antalya regarding an incident on a public bus involving remarks directed at the mother and sister of a fallen soldier. The soldier's sister, who recorded video footage with her mobile phone to document the events, now faces a public lawsuit for violating privacy. Meanwhile, the investigation into the bus driver for insulting the sacred memory of the martyr continues.
The legal process that began after allegedly offensive remarks were made toward a mother and sister of a martyr on a public bus in Antalya has taken a new turn. According to the claim, the bus driver reportedly said, "Your being a martyr's family does not concern me," and the martyr's sister, who recorded the incident with her mobile phone to document the events, has been publicly prosecuted for "violation of privacy." The martyr family's lawyer, Ozan Gürhan, stated they will follow the process to the end.
In the incident that allegedly occurred on a public bus where the martyr's mother and sister were traveling, the bus driver reportedly did not allow the martyr's family to continue their journey and demanded they get off the vehicle. During this, the driver is alleged to have said to the family, "Your being a martyr's family does not concern me."
Following the events, the martyr's sister began recording with her mobile phone camera to document what they were subjected to. It was reported that the footage was taken to evidence the alleged insults and argument during the incident.
CRIMINAL COMPLAINT FILED AGAINST DRIVER
After the incident, the martyr's family filed a criminal complaint against the bus driver at the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office for "insult to the martyr's sacred memory." It was learned that the investigation into this complaint is ongoing.
However, a notable development occurred in the legal process. Before the investigation into the driver was concluded, a public prosecution was initiated against the martyr's sister, who was reported to have recorded footage to collect evidence during the incident, at the Antalya Criminal Court of First Instance for "violation of privacy."
STATEMENT FROM LAWYER
The martyr family's lawyer, Ozan Gürhan, in his statement about the process, said: "Our criminal complaint based on the insult to our martyr's sacred memory is ongoing, and a public prosecution has been initiated against our martyr's sister, who recorded the events with her mobile phone to document them."
Gürhan, stating that they have full confidence in the law and the independent judiciary, made the following assessment: "Our martyrs and their families, who are their legacies, are a common value of this nation. We will follow both the case to be heard at the Antalya Criminal Court of First Instance and our criminal complaint regarding the insult to our martyr's memory to the end. I want to emphasize that we have no doubt whatsoever in our trust in justice."
LEGAL PROCESS CONTINUES
While the investigation regarding the martyr family's criminal complaint against the bus driver continues, the public prosecution against the martyr's sister, who is reported to have recorded footage to document the incident, will also be heard at the Antalya Criminal Court of First Instance. It was reported that both legal processes are ongoing.
