Seracettin D., who severely injured family physician Dr. Can Cevher Gürler by beating him with an electric kettle while trying to obtain a report for his spouse's employment in Adana, was referred to the courthouse. It was stated that Seracettin D. said in his statement, "He poured tea on me, and I wanted to protect myself."

In an incident that occurred at around 11:00 yesterday in the family health center in Dumlupınar neighborhood of Seyhan district, family physician Seracettin D., whose records were with another doctor, came to Dr. Can Cevher Gürler to get a work entry report for his wife. When Dr. Gürler said that he could only give a report informing about the situation to someone who is not registered with him, an argument broke out. As the argument escalated, Seracettin D. attacked the doctor with an electric kettle in the room. Dr. Gürler, who suffered a dislocated shoulder, a cracked skull, and open wounds as a result of the attack, was taken to the intensive care unit at Seyhan State Hospital for treatment.

"HE POURED TEA ON ME, I WANTED TO PROTECT MYSELF"

The Crime Prevention and Investigation Bureau of Seyhan District Police Department detained the suspect Seracettin D. during a raid on his house. In his statement at the police station, Seracettin D. revealed that his wife had filled out a form but later said that the report was different. He also mentioned that the same issue had occurred 2 months ago. He said, "He poured tea on me, and I wanted to protect myself."

After the procedures, Seracettin D. was taken to Adana Forensic Medicine Unit for a health check. He told journalists, "He didn't help me in any way. He was the first one to hit. I didn't have to beat him, but he resorted to violence. His condition is not serious."

Seracettin D. was referred to the courthouse.
