Shocking incident at the hospital! The chief physician sexually assaulted a doctor.

In May 2020, an incident occurred at a private hospital in Lüleburgaz, where a foreign female doctor, E.V., was sexually assaulted by the chief physician, A.Ç. After the incident, Doctor V. went to Edirne, where her family lives, and sought psychological support before going to the police station.

ADMINISTERED MEDICATION WITH ALCOHOL

Doctor E.V., in her statement to the police, mentioned that after breaking up with her boyfriend, the chief physician gave her medication to relax and later, while she was working in the emergency department, he came to her and gave her the same medication for the second time. E.V. explained that Chief Physician A.Ç. invited her to his room in the evening to have alcohol and, upon insistence, she drank a glass of wine, which made her feel worse and worse.

SEXUAL ASSAULT ON A STRETCHER

According to a news report on Halk TV, E.V. stated that she felt unwell and the chief physician closed the door and turned off the lights in the room, then sexually assaulted her on a stretcher. When she woke up, she noticed that all her clothes were on the floor and the chief physician was naked. A.Ç. was arrested after the complaint and, after the procedures at the police station, he was brought to court on June 19, 2020, and was subsequently detained. During the ongoing trial, Chief Physician A.Ç. was released.

15 YEARS OF IMPRISONMENT FOR THE CHIEF PHYSICIAN

A.Ç., who was accused, emphasized that the sexual intercourse he had with E.V. was consensual. In the trial held at the 1st Heavy Penal Court of Kırklareli, A.Ç. was sentenced to 15 years in prison for "aggravated sexual assault" against E.V.

COURT OF APPEALS OVERTURNED THE APPEAL DECISION

In the case that went to the Court of Appeals, the local court's decision was overturned, and Dr. A.Ç. was granted release. The Court of Appeals, in turn, overturned the decision of the Court of Appeals. After the overturning, the case was brought to the Istanbul Regional Court of Justice and was heard in the 25th Penal Chamber. The Istanbul Regional Court of Justice complied with the Court of Appeals' decision.

SENT TO PRISON

In today's hearing, the chamber issued an arrest warrant for Dr. A.Ç., who was sentenced to 15 years in prison. It was reported that A.Ç. was sent to prison.
