Sinan Burhan, speaking on TV100 during the debate over the Ataturk Forest Farm (AOÇ) and the Presidential Complex, stated that evaluations regarding AOÇ lands should not be made solely through the lens of the Presidential Complex, and brought up past land allocations.
In a program broadcast on TV100, a striking debate took place regarding Atatürk Forest Farm (AOÇ) and the Presidential Complex.
Barış Yarkadaş and İsmail Dükel, speaking on the program, criticized the construction of the Presidential Complex on the land of Atatürk Forest Farm, expressing the view that "Atatürk Forest Farm was plundered."
HE REMINDED PAST ALLOCATIONS IN THE AOÇ DEBATE
Responding to these comments, Sinan Burhan stated that the debates about AOÇ lands should not be conducted solely over the Presidential Complex.
Burhan said, "If 'plunder' is to be mentioned, it must be considered in a historical context. The person who made the first large land allocations was İsmet İnönü, the then Chairman of the CHP. One of the largest plots of Atatürk Forest Farm was given to the Italian beer company Bomonti, and later allocated to the Koç Group."
"THE PRESIDENTIAL COMPLEX BELONGS TO THE NATION"
Stating that the Presidential Complex is a state-owned structure, Burhan said, "The Presidential Complex belongs to the nation. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan is here today, gone tomorrow. The state is permanent. Past allocations should be evaluated with the same sensitivity."
