Six Iranian navy personnel were killed in US strikes on Iran Tuesday night.
New information has emerged regarding military casualties from the recent US strikes on Iran. According to Iranian media, 6 Iranian soldiers were killed in strikes on targets in the south of the country on Tuesday night. Reuters also reported that with the latest statement, the number of Iranian military personnel casualties reported in this week's US strikes has risen to at least 13.
3 PILOTS AMONG THE DEAD
According to information in the Iranian press, 3 pilots are among the soldiers who lost their lives. The names of the pilots were announced as Mojtaba Bagheri, Hamed Okati, and Hossein Mahdavian. According to information reported by AA, Bagheri and Okati served in the navy, while Mahdavian served in the air force.
18 DEAD, 142 WOUNDED
Hossein Kermanpur, the Public Relations Officer of the Iranian Ministry of Health, announced that 18 people were killed and 142 people were wounded in US strikes carried out between August 30 and September 2.
US: WAVE OF STRIKES COMPLETED
The US Central Command (CENTCOM), in a statement following the strikes, reported that the wave of strikes on military targets in Iran had been completed. CENTCOM stated that the operation was carried out in response to attempts by Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps to attack commercial ships and US military personnel in the Strait of Hormuz.
