The cold weather wave that was effective in Kahramanmaraş in May brought snowfall to the high altitudes.
While rain was effective in the city center, snowfall was observed in high-altitude regions. The foothills and summit of Ahır Mountain, where Yedikuyular Ski Resort is located, turned white in a short time. The scenery in the region did not fall short of winter months.
SNOW ALSO AFFECTED NORTHERN DISTRICTS
Snowfall was also observed in the districts of Elbistan, Afşin, Göksun, and Nurhak. Citizens living in high altitudes experienced surprise at encountering snowfall in May.
CITIZENS TOOK PHOTOS
Ali Yılmaz, a citizen in the region, said, "We are in the Yedikuyular area on May 5th. The snowfall made us happy. Since it is rare to see snow in these months, we wanted to take photos. It is very close to the city center, so you can come and enjoy the snow."
Ramazan Kurt stated that snowfall was effective at the summit of Ahır Mountain, saying, "There is snow everywhere as far as the eye can see."
