The rainy and cold weather affecting Bolu and its surroundings reached as far as Istanbul. While temperatures in Istanbul dropped to as low as 10 degrees during the night, thermometers showed 2 degrees in the Gerede district of Bolu. In Gerede, where heavy rain was effective throughout the day, snowfall began in the evening.
With the drop in air temperatures in some regions of Turkey, the first effects of the winter season have begun to be felt. The rainy weather continuing in Bolu and its surroundings also caused temperatures to fall in Istanbul. While the air temperature in Istanbul dropped to 10 degrees toward midnight, the temperature in Bolu's Gerede district fell to 2 degrees.
HEAVY RAIN IN GEREDE GAVE WAY TO SNOW
In Bolu's Gerede district, located on the Istanbul-Ankara and Black Sea road route, the downpour that was effective throughout the day gave way to snow in the evening hours. As the air temperature dropped to 2 degrees, snowfall in the district intensified.
TREES AND GREEN AREAS BLANKETED IN WHITE
With the heavy snowfall, green areas and the tops of trees in Gerede began to turn white. The precipitation affecting the district also brought winter scenery.
