Discounted prices at a women's clothing store opened in Bayburt caused a stampede. Citizens who heard about prices starting from 10 liras formed queues inside the store, while customers waited for minutes in front of the cash register to pay for their purchases.
SOME BOUGHT WITHOUT TRYING, SOME WITHOUT EVEN CHECKING THE PRICE
In the women's clothing store that opened in the Velişaban neighborhood of Bayburt, the business owners organized a special campaign for the opening, offering clothes for sale starting at prices of 10 liras. Citizens who arrived early in the morning and began waiting for the doors to open created a crowd in front of the store. The shopping race that started with the opening of the doors turned into a stampede, as citizens competed with both time and each other to not miss out on the cheap clothes. Some customers piled the discounted clothes on their arms without trying them on, while others queued in front of the cash register to make their payments without even checking the price.
THEY CAME EARLY IN THE MORNING
Derya Polat, a citizen who said she came to shop early in the morning, stated, "Products are being sold at a new store opened in Bayburt, with special prices starting from 10 liras for the opening. We came in the morning, did our shopping, and we are still continuing. There are a lot of products, and they are very beautiful. There is a very dense crowd. I arrived at 09:00 in the morning, and I have been here since then. The crowd is so large that we cannot reach the products quickly," she said.
"WE'VE BEEN HERE FOR 3-4 HOURS"
Asude Aydın, another customer who has been shopping for 3-4 hours to buy products at affordable prices and waiting in line, said, "I came to shop, and there is a very serious crowd. Hopefully, we will pay for our items and get our clothes. I have been here since 13:00. We have waited quite a bit due to the crowd. There are very nice products, and hopefully, we will get them and leave. There is quite a crowd, so we have been here for 3-4 hours," she expressed.
