Associate Professor Dr. Arif Karabeyoğlu stated that the number of satellites around the world is rapidly increasing, expressing that the number of satellites, which has exceeded 10,000, could surpass 100,000 within 10 years. He emphasized that space has become very crowded and that this situation poses serious risks.
In the Akşam Haberleri program hosted by Hülya Hökenek, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Arif Karabeyoğlu made striking statements about space technologies and satellite traffic.
''YOU CANNOT STAY WHERE THEY LAUNCH YOU''
Stating that space has turned into a large crowd, Karabeyoğlu expressed that this situation poses serious risks and made the following striking warning: "It has become so crowded that you need to go to the empty places in space. You cannot stay where they launch you. You need to clean up space and extend the lifespan of satellites."
''WE ARE ONE OF THE COUNTRIES THAT MADE THIS ENGINE''
Pointing out that the ability to move in space has become one of the most critical issues facing humanity, Karabeyoğlu stated that the solution lies in advanced space engines. Referring to the steps Turkey has taken in this field, Karabeyoğlu said: "The way to move is through space engines. Together with Fergani, we have become one of the few countries that make this engine," highlighting the strategic importance of domestic space engine technology.
