Spain's Defense Minister Margarita Robles announced that the military bases in Rota and Moron de la Frontera in the south of the country do not provide any assistance to the U.S. military's attacks on Iran.

SPAIN: THE U.S. IS NOT USING OUR BASES FOR ATTACKS ON IRAN

Minister Robles made statements to reporters at an event held in the city of Granada. Robles stated that the U.S. has not benefited in any way from the Moron de la Frontera base in the city of Seville and the Rota base in the city of Cadiz for its attacks on Iran.

Noting that the use of the two bases in Andalusia, which also host U.S. military troops, is only permitted to operate within the framework of international law according to the existing agreement between Spain and the U.S., Robles emphasized that unilateral actions cannot be considered.

"AIRCRAFT WILL NOT CONDUCT OPERATIONS FROM SPANISH BASES"

In response to a question about the departure of U.S. military aircraft from the Andalusian bases, Robles replied, "These aircraft have not conducted and will not conduct any maintenance or support operations related to the attacks in Iran."

On the other hand, the newspaper El Confidencial reported that Foreign Minister Jose Manuel Albares stated, "Spain will not allow its bases to be used for attacks on Iran."

The report mentioned that "11 KC-135T and KC-135R aircraft, vital for refueling the air unit participating in the bombing operations against Iran, left the Spanish bases on the night of March 1, Sunday, heading to bases in Germany, the United Kingdom, and other European countries."
