The founder of Mango, one of Spain's important textile companies, 71-year-old İsak Andiç Ermay, a Turkish and Spanish citizen, tragically lost his life after falling from a height of 100 meters during a mountain hike.

Isak Andiç, born in Istanbul and having migrated to Spain at the age of 14, was reported to have died after falling from a height of approximately 100 meters during a trip in the mountainous area of Montserrat in the Catalonia region.

The president of the Catalonia autonomous government, Salvador Illa Roca, expressed his shock at the loss of Isak Andic, a determined businessman who contributed to the growth of Catalonia and its recognition in the world through his leadership, in a post on his official X account. "He left an indelible mark on the Catalan and global fashion industry. I extend my condolences to his family, friends, and the Mango team on behalf of my government," he stated.

HE WAS THE 5TH RICHEST PERSON IN SPAIN

Isak Andiç, born in 1953 to a Sephardic Jewish family in Istanbul, made significant strides in the textile industry after entering it in 1979, founding the Mango company in 1984.

In the list released by Forbes magazine for the year 2024, Andiç was listed as the 5th richest businessman in Spain, with a fortune of approximately 4.5 billion euros.
