Spanish footballer Rafa Mir sentenced to 8.5 years in prison for sexual assault and injury crimes

Rafa Mir, who plays for Spanish La Liga team Elche, has been sentenced to 8.5 years in prison for sexual assault and injury.

Bad news came for Spanish footballer Rafa Mir, who played for Elche last season in La Liga and whose registration rights belong to Sevilla.

8.5 YEARS IN PRISON

Rafa Mir was sentenced to 8.5 years in prison and a fine of 64,000 euros for charges of sexual assault and injury. The ruling by the High Court of Justice of the Valencian Community found Mir guilty in connection with an incident that occurred in 2024. The decision is not yet final, and it was stated that the footballer's lawyers will appeal.
