Faik Öztrak, who has been an uninterrupted CHP Tekirdağ MP for 19 years, announced that he will remain in the CHP. Öztrak stated, "Today is the day to see the future with a century of experience, to unite as one heart and one fist with state dignity and an unwavering love for the nation. We are determined to continue the struggle for virtue and justice under the roof of our Republican People's Party, shoulder to shoulder, without diminishing or bending."
Faik Öztrak, CHP MP for Tekirdağ, made a post on his social media account following the new party announcement by CHP Group Chairman Özgür Özel and the resignations within the party.
Öztrak stated, "The Republican People's Party is the party of those who, a century ago, broke the yoke of imperialism on the battlefields, and who today say 'not negotiate, but struggle' with the palace autocrats. The Republican People's Party is not the party of AKP imitators who see Atatürk's entrusted party as baggage and think they need to get rid of it to come to power, nor of those who dare to use our party as a shield for themselves instead of cleansing, but of those who, when necessary, shield their party with their own chests."
"EVIL IS BEING DONE TO OUR NATION"
Öztrak continued his remarks with the following statements:
"Those who say they conduct 'back door' diplomacy with the Palace and rely on the guarantees they receive, those who trust the Palace and its partners so much that they would say 'I'll cut my wrists if a decision goes through,' those who lay out a red carpet for Erdoğan and hoist his flag on the CHP headquarters' mast, those who ask CHP MPs to stand up and applaud the AKP Chairman in Parliament, those who bow and button their jackets in front of the Palace's partner cannot give a lesson in honor to CHP MPs.
We are those who cherish the Republican People's Party founded by Atatürk, who are honored to struggle for our country under this roof. We are aware that whenever the Republican People's Party falls into distress, those who have never digested the values of the Republic find an opportunity to attack these values. We are those who know that the Republican People's Party is the insurance of the Republic's values and lifestyles embraced by our nation. Those who, with childish attitudes, say 'if I'm not there, let the party not exist either,' stomp all over our party, and try to finish the party while leaving, are doing evil not only to the CHP but also to our nation.
In a period when cards are being redistributed in our region, it cannot be well-intentioned to curtail the power of the party that is the insurance of the country. Today is not a day to get lost in the vortex of petty calculations or pursue personal ambitions in shallow harbors. Today is a day to see the future with a century of experience, to become one heart and one hand with state seriousness and an unwavering love for the nation.
