It was claimed that Müge Boz's husband, basketball player Caner Erdeniz, was mentioned in the divorce case of businessman Burak Özberk and Burçak Özberk. Erdeniz stated in a statement on his social media account that the claims do not reflect the truth and that he will exercise his legal rights.
It was claimed that the marriage of Burak Özberk and Burçak Özberk, who got married in 2012, was shaken due to allegations of infidelity. While it is alleged that Burak Özberk applied to the court to end his 14-year marriage, it was also claimed that the name of actress Müge Boz's husband, Caner Erdeniz, was mentioned during the legal process. Following the allegations, Caner Erdeniz and Müge Boz made statements on their social media accounts.

Caner Erdeniz stated that his name was mentioned in the news in an untrue manner and used the following expressions:
“Today, I have sadly learned that my name has been mentioned in a false (lie) manner in news that is claimed to be related to my private life, which has appeared in some press and digital media. The person mentioned in the news is an old friend of mine. It is quite disturbing that a legal process, which is progressing with our knowledge from start to finish and only concerns the relevant parties, is presented by mixing up my name solely to give 'news value' to third parties. I have absolutely no connection or involvement with this process. The mention of my name in this way is both untrue and clearly damaging to my reputation.”
Erdeniz also stated the following:
“I do not accept that my personal life and reputation are the subject of baseless fabrications. In this regard, I will exercise all my legal rights regarding the relevant news and content, and I respectfully inform the public that necessary applications will be made.”

Actress Müge Boz also supported her husband by quoting his post on her social media account. In her post, Boz stated, “Unfortunately, we woke up to such news today. Since a legal process has been initiated, I am choosing my words carefully. No one can slander our family, which we have built and nurtured with love and respect, just for their own benefit.”
