We strongly urge parents to remain assured and to only consider the statements from our official institutions.'
Istanbul Governor Davut Gül made a statement regarding some messages shared on social media after the armed attack at a school in Kahramanmaraş.

Istanbul Governor Davut Gül, who made statements on his social media account regarding the issue, said, "We pray to God for mercy for our children who lost their lives due to the sad events that occurred in our schools, and for a speedy recovery for our injured; we offer patience and condolences to their families. Shares aimed at causing fear and panic among our citizens by providing school names from different places are being closely monitored. Irresponsible comments, sarcastic expressions, and so-called 'entertainment' content over this great pain are never acceptable. Such a tragedy cannot be exploited; it cannot be taken lightly in any way."
"NO INITIATIVE WILL BE TOLERATED"
Stating that shares aimed at causing fear and panic among citizens by providing school names are being closely monitored, Governor Gül noted the following in the continuation of his post: "Individuals and accounts spreading such content aimed at unsettling the public are instantly detected by our security units, and necessary legal procedures are applied without delay against them. No initiative targeting public order will be tolerated. All measures have been taken at the highest level for the safety of our students in our schools, and educational activities continue safely. We urgently request our parents to be at ease and to only consider the statements of our official institutions."
