The banner reading "Natural is normal birth," which was displayed before the Fenerbahçe-Sivasspor match, has ignited a new debate. Following Health Minister Memişoğlu's defense of "Are only men coming to the football match?", the Health Ministry made a statement today saying, "Normal birth is a physiological process. Cesarean birth is a surgical method that is only resorted to in cases of necessity."

The appearance of the banner "Natural is normal birth" by Sivasspor in the match against Fenerbahçe ignited a major debate. The banner stated, "Unless medically necessary, cesarean is not natural."

"ARE ONLY MEN COMING TO THE FOOTBALL MATCH?"

Health Minister Kemal Memişoğlu defended the banner with the words, "It's normal. Are only men coming to the football match, friends?" while women reacted strongly to the banner.

THERE IS A STATEMENT FROM THE MINISTRY OF HEALTH

A statement regarding the discussions also came from the Ministry of Health. The statement included the following remarks: "Normal birth is a physiological process. Cesarean birth is a surgical method that is only resorted to in cases of medical necessity."

In Turkey, 61 out of every 100 births are performed by cesarean section. The World Health Organization states that keeping this rate between 10-15% is more suitable for both maternal and infant health. Scientific research shows that normal birth is associated with a faster recovery process for mothers, lower risk of infection, and fewer postpartum complications.

"NORMAL BIRTH PROVIDES IMPORTANT ADVANTAGES"

From the perspective of the baby, normal birth provides important advantages such as early and safe contact with the mother, strengthening of the immune system, and fewer respiratory problems. Unnecessary cesarean interventions can negatively affect women's fertility capacity and increase various risks in subsequent pregnancies. The Ministry of Health does not impose or direct women regarding their birth method; instead, it conducts studies aimed at raising societal awareness of the benefits of normal birth in light of scientific data.
