The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that the Montreux Convention Regarding the Regime of the Straits has been implemented with neutrality, transparency, and precision for 90 years, emphasizing that the convention is a guarantee of peace and security in the Black Sea and that Turkey will continue to implement it with the same determination.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a written statement regarding the 90th anniversary of the signing of the Montreux Convention Regarding the Regime of the Straits.
The Ministry stated, "The Montreux Convention, signed on July 20, 1936, which confirms our country's sovereignty over the Turkish Straits, which are our internal waters, has been implemented by our country with impartiality, transparency, and meticulousness for a full 90 years."
"WILL BE IMPLEMENTED WITH THE SAME DETERMINATION"
In the written statement made by the Ministry, it was said, "The Montreux Convention, signed on July 20, 1936, which confirms our country's sovereignty over the Turkish Straits, which are our internal waters, has been implemented by our country with impartiality, transparency, and meticulousness for a full 90 years.
The convention, one of the main guarantees of peace, security, and stability in the Black Sea, has maintained its validity continuously in both times of peace and war and has proven its value. Turkey, as it has until today, will continue to implement the Montreux Convention with the same determination from now on."
