The Chairman of the Sudan Sovereignty Council and Army Commander Abdulfattah al-Burhan announced that Sudan would join the fight alongside Iran if the US and Israel launched a ground operation against Iran. This statement has raised concerns that the conflicts in the Middle East could escalate into a regional war.
On the sixth day of the attacks initiated by the USA and Israel against Iran, new airstrikes were carried out in Tehran, the capital of Iran, while Israeli bombardment continued in Lebanon.
ISRAELI ARMY CALLS FOR EVACUATION The Israeli army called for evacuation in some neighborhoods south of Beirut. In the USA, the Senate rejected an initiative aimed at limiting President Donald Trump's military operations against Iran.
COULD TURN INTO A REGIONAL WAR While the Iranian administration sent strong messages to both Washington and European countries, an attack in Azerbaijan raised concerns that the tension could spread to the region. While the whole world closely follows the developments in the region, a striking statement also came from General Abdulfettah el-Burhan, the Chairman of the Sudan Sovereignty Council and Army Commander. Burhan stated, "If the United States and Israel launch a ground operation against Iran, Sudan will join the war alongside Iran."
Abdulfettah el-Burhan - President Erdoğan HEZBOLLAH'S ROCKET ATTACK The armed group Hezbollah, based in Lebanon, announced that it has carried out new attacks against Israeli forces. In a statement, Hezbollah reported that Israeli soldiers located near the town of Markaba in Southern Lebanon were targeted by rocket attacks. The statement claimed that the attack was carried out with "direct hits" and that there were casualties among Israeli forces. The Israeli army has not yet made a detailed statement regarding the attack.
ATTACK IN AZERBAIJAN The effects of the war have started to reflect in the Caucasus as well. The Azerbaijani administration held Iran responsible for a drone attack on an airport in the Nakhchivan region. Azerbaijani officials claimed that the attack was carried out by elements supported by Iran. Tehran denied this allegation, stating that it had no connection to the incident. Analysts indicate that the already tense relations between Iran and Azerbaijan could worsen further due to this incident.
