During the winter months, to meet the demands of pregnant women and those craving certain foods, summer fruits have been made available for sale in markets. The price for imported fruits is 100 TL for plums and 150 TL for nectarines and peaches.

The fruits such as plums, peaches, and nectarines, which are harvested in the summer, have also found their place on the market stalls in winter. The prices of these summer fruits, which adorn the stalls to meet the demands of craving pregnant women, children, or those who desire them, astonished those who saw them.

PLUMS 100 TL, PEACHES 150 TL

Plums, which are stored in cold storage and sold by quantity, are priced at 100 TL, while nectarines and peaches are sold for 150 TL. Locally produced strawberries, however, are sold for 400 TL per kilogram and 15 TL each due to a decrease in production caused by damage to agricultural areas from cold weather, storms, and rainfall.

"THERE ARE CUSTOMERS WHO CALL TO PLACE ORDERS"

Osman Bayık, who operates a greengrocer in the Konyaaltı district, stated that during the winter months, it is usually pregnant women, children, or those who crave summer fruits that make requests. Bayık mentioned that there are customers who call to place orders, saying, "It is difficult to supply nectarines, peaches, and plums, which become widespread in the summer, during the winter season. Due to the high demand from customers, we procure imported fruits. We store them in cold storage. We sell them individually to customers who call or come to the greengrocer. Plums are 150 TL, while nectarines and peaches are 100 TL," he said.
