After the "absolute nullity" decision, Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu returned to the CHP chairmanship, and a surprising move came from Future Party Chairman Ahmet Davutoğlu, whom he accused of "ingratitude." Criticizing his own administration, Davutoğlu stated, "Almost all municipalities, including CHP-run ones, are mired in corruption, and unless this is cleaned up, the main opposition party cannot claim clean politics."
Developments that shake Turkish politics to their core are happening one after another. Following the court's "absolute nullity" decision, Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, who legally returns to the CHP's chairmanship, has launched a radical "redesign" and purification process within the party, while completely closing the door to former alliance partners. As the repercussions of this move continue, Future Party leader Ahmet Davutoğlu fired a harsh "purification" salvo targeting the CHP and municipalities.
KILIÇDAROĞLU CUTS TICKETS OF FORMER PARTNERS
According to information obtained by Olgun Kızıltepe, News Director of Haberler.com, from high-level sources close to Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu; the CHP leader has completely severed bridges with the İYİ Party, Future Party, and DEVA Party, with whom he had cooperated under the Nation Alliance in the past. It has been learned that Kılıçdaroğlu, who frequently reiterates calls for "purification" within the party, has definitively and radically closed the door to these three parties in the event of a possible early election or new alliance scenario.
WARNING FROM DAVUTOĞLU: CHP WILL SPLIT AGAIN
Following Kılıçdaroğlu's move, the first surprising response from former partners came from Future Party Chairman Ahmet Davutoğlu. Speaking at the New Path group meeting in Parliament, Davutoğlu stated that the CHP is currently effectively split in two and said, "Look at the main opposition party, they have effectively split in two. A new party will emerge. After September 12, CHP struggled for 10 years to rid itself of the split between the Populist Party and SHP. Now you will split again."
"ALL MUNICIPALITIES ARE ENMIRED IN CORRUPTION"
Davutoğlu, addressing both Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu and Özgür Özel over the dual leadership in the CHP, stated that the parties expect support from him. Describing the ongoing judicial process as "an operation on politics," Davutoğlu concluded his remarks with very serious accusations against the municipalities: "You want us to take sides. You say, 'Choose us, stand by us.' I definitely say 'wrong' to the legal operation and absolute nullity against you, and I say this is an operation on politics. But then I turn around and say: Yes, almost all municipalities, including CHP-run municipalities, are enmired in corruption, and unless they are cleansed of this, the main opposition party cannot claim clean politics."
