HE KILLED 11 WOMEN AND RECEIVED A 25-YEAR PRISON SENTENCE
Vitaly Manishin, a former Altai Region official, became one of Russia's most talked-about criminals for the series of murders he committed between 1989 and 2000.
According to the investigation, Manishin sexually assaulted and killed 11 people, including young women who had applied to Altai Technical University. The suspect, whose identity went undetected for years, was only apprehended in 2023. He was subsequently sentenced to 25 years in prison in the trial that followed.
HE WANTED TO GO TO THE UKRAINIAN FRONT
According to claims in the Russian press, Manishin applied to sign a contract with the Russian Ministry of Defense in order to spend his sentence fighting on the front lines.
