CAUGHT THE ATTENTION OF THE GENDARMERIE DURING A ROUTINE PATROL
During a routine patrol carried out in Karakoyun neighborhood as part of environmental security and anti-smuggling efforts, teams from the Siverek District Gendarmerie Command noticed smoke rising from agricultural lands.
Quickly arriving at the scene, the teams determined that stubble was being burned in a vast field. Initial inspections and investigations revealed that the suspect identified as M.D. had set fire to approximately 300 decares (300,000 square meters) of barley stubble. The situation was immediately reported to firefighting teams due to the risk of the rising flames spreading to surrounding cultivated areas and residential settlements.
NUMEROUS FIRE TRUCKS WERE DISPATCHED TO THE REGION
Following the report, numerous fire trucks and firefighting personnel were dispatched to the region. Thanks to the intensive intervention of the teams, the flames were prevented from spreading to an even larger area, and the fire, which caused serious damage to nature and the soil, was brought under control.
