İ.D., 21, who was found to have broken tombstone headstones in the cemetery (hazire) of Haydarhane Mosque in Fatih, has been detained. Legal proceedings have been initiated against the suspect on charges of 'damaging places of worship and cemeteries' and 'damaging public property'.
The 21-year-old suspect, İ.D., who was determined to have damaged historical tomb stones in the Haydarhane Mosque Courtyard Cemetery in Fatih, Istanbul, was caught by police teams.
HE BROKE HISTORICAL TOMB STONES
Following the incident in the historical Haydarhane Mosque Courtyard Cemetery in Fatih, Istanbul, police teams took action. In the incident that occurred on July 31 in the cemetery, which is located in the İskenderpaşa Neighborhood and hosts centuries-old tomb stones, it was determined that the historical stones were destroyed.
CAUGHT WITH CAMERA FOOTAGE
Following the incident, in the investigations initiated by the Istanbul Police Department, surrounding security cameras and witness statements were scrutinized. In the examinations, it was clarified that a person entering the cemetery threw stones on the ground, breaking the historical tomb stones and damaging the structure.
TAKEN INTO CUSTODY
The 21-year-old suspect İ.D., whose identity was identified, was caught and taken into custody in an operation organized by police teams on August 4. The judicial investigation process initiated against the suspect, who was taken to the police station, continues within the scope of the articles "Damaging Places of Worship and Cemeteries" and "Damaging Public Property."
