Suspects armed with long-barreled weapons who took to the streets and made threats have been apprehended.

Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya stated that necessary actions have been taken regarding the individuals in the footage where an armed group threatened their rivals in Gaziantep. He said, "Seven suspects, including those individuals featured on social media, have been apprehended. We will continue our fight against those who disturb the peace of our citizens and cause threats and fear without interruption."

A video shot in a side street in Gaziantep showed some individuals seemingly 'on guard' with long-barreled weapons. Following the shocking images, teams took action and apprehended 7 suspects.

TEAMS REVIEWED THE FOOTAGE

In a statement regarding the matter, Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya said, "The images circulating on social media, showing individuals posing with long-barreled weapons in the middle of the street in Gaziantep, have been examined by our teams at the Gaziantep Provincial Police Department. Efforts to capture the suspects began on the evening of Thursday, September 26, 2024, coordinated by our Asayiş, TEM, KOM, intelligence, and patrol teams at the Gaziantep Provincial Police Department, involving address inquiries and field studies. Seven suspects, including those featured on social media, have been apprehended," he stated.

"WE WILL CUT OFF THEIR BREATH"

Continuing his statement, Minister Yerlikaya emphasized that they would continue to fight against those disturbing public peace, saying, "We will relentlessly continue our struggle against those who disrupt the peace of our people and create threats and fear. We will cut off the breath of all criminal organizations that threaten the peace of our esteemed nation. This is our promise to the nation," he added.

"IS PRESSING A BUTTON THE SAME AS PULLING A TRIGGER?" THEY SAID

In the rapidly spreading and shocking footage, the armed group could be heard saying, "You can't go out, is pressing a button the same as pulling a trigger?" Meanwhile, users who shared the footage claimed that the individual in the video had 57 criminal records and called on the authorities to apprehend these individuals.
