Syria has completed the signing of a grant project with the World Bank for the repair of electricity transmission lines after a 40-year hiatus. The project will strengthen energy supply and contribute to the country's economy.

Syria has completed the final signing process for an agreement regarding the repair of electricity transmission lines to implement its first joint project with the World Bank after nearly 40 years.

FINANCE MINISTER ANNOUNCED

Syria's Finance Minister Mohammed Yaser Berniye announced on his social media account that the final document for the project, which includes the repair and strengthening of electricity transmission lines, has been signed.

PROJECT FINANCED UNDER GRANT

Berniye stated that the project is financed under a grant, not a loan, saying, "This work will particularly support the Ministry of Energy's efforts to strengthen electricity supply and will contribute to the country's economy."

146 MILLION DOLLAR GRANT TO BE PROVIDED

In June, the World Bank Board of Directors approved a grant of 146 million dollars for the repair of electricity transmission lines in Syria.
