It was announced that Syrian President Ahmed al-Shara will visit the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Turkey next week. The Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which announced the visit program, stated that al-Shara has been continuing his diplomatic contacts since taking office.

UAE WILL BE THE SECOND GULF COUNTRY AHMED SHARA VISITS

The UAE will be the second Gulf country where al-Shara will hold contacts after his visit to Saudi Arabia last February.

Ahmed Shara, who is the President in the new government established after the fall of the Assad regime in Syria, made his first visit to Turkey in February.

After meeting with President Erdoğan, Shara stated at a press conference held after the meeting, "Turkey has shown historical solidarity by opening its doors to Syrian refugees. The relations between the two countries have a historically deep-rooted bond, and we are determined to further strengthen these relations. We are taking joint steps on border security with Turkey, combating terrorism, and economic cooperation."
