Ramazan Kara, the husband of teacher Ayla Kara who shielded her students during the school attack in Kahramanmaraş and lost her life after being hit by three bullets, said, "I am proud. She had dreams, she loved this place very much. We were going to build a house here, but instead, her grave came."
Ayla Kara, who lost her life in the armed attack organized at a middle school in Kahramanmaraş, was sent off on her final journey.
In the armed attack that occurred yesterday at noon at Ayser Çalık Middle School in the Haydarbey Neighborhood of the central Onikişubat district, teacher Ayla Kara (55), a mother of 3 children, as well as 9 other people lost their lives, and 17 people were injured. Within the scope of the investigation, the attacker's father, U.M., was arrested.
SHE SHIELDED HERSELF FOR HER STUDENTS
The funeral of mathematics teacher Ayla Kara, who was learned to have shielded herself to protect her students, was laid to rest with tears in the Tekir Neighborhood of the Onikişubat district. At the funeral, Minister of National Education Yusuf Tekin hugged the family and did not leave them alone.

After the burial, Ayla Kara's husband, Ramazan Kara, made exclusive statements to İhlas News Agency. Saying he was proud, Kara stated, "I am proud. It was not in any plans or calculations, but she had dreams. May God be her friend and helper. She loved this place very much. We were going to build a house here, but her grave came instead. May God grant her the rank of martyrdom."
