The KPSS exam and interviews for teaching positions are being abolished. Instead, candidate teachers will undergo a 14-month training program at the National Education Academy and will receive 400,000 TL during this period. For the academies, which will not be available in every province, the ministry's service training centers will be utilized.
The teaching system has changed. Now, teacher candidates will take the Academy Entrance Exam (AGS) instead of the Public Personnel Selection Exam (KPSS) after their university education. According to the news in Türkiye Gazetesi, the exam will be held for the first time on July 13. After the exam, the process of the National Education Academy will begin. Teacher candidates will undergo a 14-month training at the National Education Academy.
THEY WILL RECEIVE 400 THOUSAND TL FOR 14 MONTHS OF TRAINING
Those receiving education here will not be referred to as scholarship holders or candidate civil servants, but as candidate teachers, and during the 14-month period, candidates will receive approximately 400 thousand TL. At the end of this period, a score list will be created for the candidate teacher based on the success obtained from theoretical exams and the grades given by the school where they practiced. They will make their preferences according to this superiority and will be placed in their schools. Candidate teachers who fail in the process will be excluded from the list. Since AGS will be held every year, if a candidate wishes to take the exam again the following year, they can take the exam and become an academy student again.
IT WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE IN EVERY PROVINCE
The academies to be established will not be available in every province; at this point, the ministry's service training centers will come into play. With this step, the ministry aims to ensure that teacher candidates do not have to pay any fees for accommodation.
